About this item
Tumbler engraved Success to Rochdale Canal and the reverse engraved with a spray of flowers. The base with a polished out pontil. English 19th century.
Bowl dia: 7.9 cm.
Base dia: 5 cm.
Condition: Very good with minor restoration to rim.
Note: Completed in 1804 the canal runs for 32 miles (51 km) across the Pennines from the Bridgewater Canal at Castlefield Basin in Manchester to join the Calder and Hebble Navigation at Sowerby Bridge in West Yorkshire.
