About this item
A Set of Eight French Crystal Wine Goblets
Lead crystal glasses raised on hexagonal stems
Possibly by Baccarat (Unmarked)
20th Century
Measure:-
15.9 high x 8.2 cm diameter (approx)
An excellent and very attractive set of eight heavyweight crystal glasses. Each with a knopped hexagonal prismatic stem above a hexagonal foot. The shape is very similar to Baccarat's "Harcourt Pattern", first introduced in 1841 and popularised during the reign of Napoleon III. Weights and shapes of these styles of glass have varied over the years and they also come in different sizes, depending on the beverage intended to be drunk from the design. Although unmarked, the set is thought to be 20th Century. Whether or not by Baccarat they are certainly of a very high quality and would happily certainly accessorise with other pieces.
Condition:-
Good. Two glasses with polished rim 'nibbles' (one of these minuscule). One glass with minor clouding (probably from a too high-temperature dishwasher visit).
