About this item
Early 19th century cream jug in the Low Oval Porcelain shape attributed to Miles Mason, c.1810. Decorated with a frieze of stylised flowers and foliage in black and white on an orange ground. Black border around the edge of the handle, below the floral frieze and a black painted acanthus leaf up the back of the handle. Gilded band above the frieze and gilded rim.
Unmarked but matches a teapot that I believe is by Miles Mason. The pattern interestingly appears very similar in design to the Spode patterns 878/893.
It measures 7.2cm (2 7/8") high, 14cm (5 1/2") spout to handle and 9cm (3 1/2") wide.
Condition is very good with no damage or restoration and light surface wear; some rubbing to gilding at the tip of the spout and wear to the glaze at the very bottom of the handle.
