    About this item

An absolute little gem....this early Oak "cheeky" Cherub complete with shaped ruff /collar has been very well carved capturing the flowing hair, the face and ruff to perfection....it still has traces of the original gold gilding all over and must have come from a very impressive church or cathedral .......it has that deep confident carving you only get with these early pieces....and not to sound too much of a cliche ....it really is a heavenly piece to behold......perfect for this very special time of year..!

    French. C1440-60.
