About this item
An early period pine carving from the mid 15thc....it looks as though it has come from the front of a Misericord (a small projection on the bottom of a hinged church seat that gives support to a standing worshipper when the seat is turned up)...the carving is is wonderfully "naive" in itself with a carved figure who is draped in a cloak bordered by large floral swags...
English. C1470-90.
