This is such a delightful carving from the 17thc...it was probably a drawer front (would have loved to see the piece of furniture it came from!) ...it shows two beautifully carved Hippocampus face to face with a pair of exotic birds perched on their tales....it has gained a superb colour and is in excellent condition.
Flemish. C1660-70.
