About this item
Finely Carved Pair of Pine 'Corbels' representing the heads of Cherubs, which came from the city of Bristol in England.
Bristol was a port city with maritime traditions and was famous for its wood carvers.
The Corbels were carved as architectural decorations on a building possibly in the old port area.
Dating from 1880-1910, the finely carved pair have been stripped and still show the remains of original white paint in the crevices.
Measuring each 17 tall x 11 x 8 inches deep. In very good condition.
