    Turquoise Set Gold English Cylinder.

    Signed: Bracebidges - London. Hallmarked London: 1821. Diameter: 45 mm. Depth: 11 mm.

    An early 19th Century English cylinder in a turquoise set gold open face case. Full plate gilt keywind fusee movement. Plain cock with large diamond endstone, polished steel Bosley regulator. Plain flat three arm gilt balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. Polished steel cylinder, large brass escape wheel, pivots with endstones. Gold matted dial with applied gold Roman numerals, gold hands. Drum shaped gold engine turned 18 carat open face case, the turquoise set bezels with applied gold decoration. Engine turned middle and back, gold bow with applied gold decoration. Maker's mark LC below a scroll, number corresponding to that on the movement.

    An attractive gold example of an English cylinder in excellent condition, casemaker Louis Comtesse.
