About this item
A decorative, reclaimed, reproduction fire back. The fire back is a vintage reproduction of period designs and features a large lion in the centre, surrounded by a thistle at the top, rose on one side and a fleur-de-lys on the other side. The top of the fire back has an arched shape and there is a simple border around the outside of the design. The fire back is thick and heavy and is ideal for pairing with a fire basket. The cast iron has been blacked and polished and has a nice finish. The fire back is reclaimed and has some signs of use and wear, as expected. There are some knocks and scratches. There is some pitting and casting marks. The back has some surface rust, as expected. Please see pictures for condition details. The fire back has a very nice period design and it would add great character to a fireplace.
