About this item
This is a pair of similar antique, 18th century and later panel back armchairs. The aged English oak carries a warmth and deep lustrous shine. Raised on turned legs united by ring turned stretchers the shaped arms terminate in scrolled ends, carved for comfort. The rear panel backs feature cleated ends, and stop ended chamfers to the field panels that stand proud behind the traditionally upholstered seat pads that are finished in a quality tan hide with studded detail.
The chairs subtle differences add interest to the pair that would grace a period home's hall or work equally well as accent pieces in a more contemporary placement.
