Offered for sale is this pair of late 19th Century Chinese Chairs.
Made of a type of "Elm" which would have been lacquered originally. Traces of this remain where less wear has occurred. Having a Yoke top rail or a "ministers hat". Curved and carved back splats also with an incised carving of a "rank" design. Solid generous seats with carved and shaped front rails, leading down to a footrest. All original and a beautiful colour and patina. A better than average pair of Chinese chairs of similar form and design.
