This is a beautiful example of a late Victorian ash Lancashire spindle back chair.
The chair has the typical Spindle back chairs are a form of rustic kitchen dining chairs that first emerged from Lancashire, England in the 18th century.
They are recognisable not only by the spindles, which are all hand turned, but also by the square blocks at the base of both front legs.
Condition report:
In excellent condition, small area of wear on the base of one of front legs, commensurate with age. Rush seating all in good order and secure.
