    Signed: Jno Scott, London. Circa: 1790. Diameter: 53 mm. Depth: 15mm.

    A late 18th Century centre seconds English verge in gold pair cases. Full plate fire gilt fusee movement with signed and numbered gilt dust cover. Pierced and engraved masked cock, diamond endstone in a polished steel setting, silver regulator disc. Plain three arm steel balance, blue steel spiral hairspring. Lateral steel stop lever acting on the contrate wheel. White enamel dial with centre seconds, small chapter offset at twelve for the hours and minutes. Roman and Arabic numerals, blue steel sweep seconds hand, gilt hands. Plain 22 carat gold pair cases. The inner with unusual hallmarks, maker's mark HLP in a rectangle and date letter Y in a large oval. Contemporary 22 carat gold outer case with Dublin hallmarks, maker's mark AN.
