About this item
A superb and rare small Oak Coffer Bach from the George III period from Camarthanshire / Cardinganshire in Wales. Displaying 3 Quality fielded panels to the front, single panelled sides and even a rough hewn panel to the back. A waisted lower part with 2 shallow drawers which are Sycamore lined. The brass fittings are additions but are of the same period. The top as is the whole has excellent colour and retaining the original oak bar hinges. On a later stand (which could easily be removed) yet has a wonderful colour and patination, the two have been together a long time.
A truly wonderful honest unaltered piece of a desirable coffer bach…..hard to find.
Condition : Very good, obviously shows signs of wear and tear all correct for the age. The stand is later .... which can easily be removed. We chose to leave it as one as they have been together a long time
