About this item
This is a beautiful early 19th Century Devonshire landscape oil on canvas painting that was executed in 1821 by 'George Burrell Willcock' who was just 10 or 11 years old at that time!
The fabulous piece portrays a wonderful riverscape scene with people on small boats, a lone figure walking along a path, tall mature trees on either side of the river bank, and an expansive bank of hills in the distance, thought to be an area of Dartmoor.
The painting is mounted within its original outstanding quality period gesso frame and it is signed and dated by the artist in the lower-right corner.
