PRETTY SHELFRACK carved in WALNUT with heart and leaf symbols, very typical of the Provence region in south eastern France.
The rack has a pediment and ' apron ' is made to be hung on a wall . A sympathetic vernacular piece that was traditionally carved for a bride or given for a marriage,.
Measures 29 inches tall X 23 x 8 deep. (74 x 58 x 20 cms) Circa 1820-1860 From Provence , Southern France. In good condition with several old repairs and imperfections to the sides of the rack which are hardly visible.
