This is an exceptional 'highest quality available' original 19th Century Taxidermy display of 4 beautiful Roach by arguably the world's finest fish Taxidermist
'J. Cooper & Sons, London'.
The immaculate piece is housed in the original bow-fronted 3-sided glazed case with a twin-lined gilt border.
The case can be either hung on the wall or placed on a tabletop.
The beautiful fish are portrayed within a naturalistic riverbed setting that is embellished with lifelike reeds and riverbed boulders.
The attached original 19th-century interior label reads:
''Caught in the Keepers Pool, Sutton Park - August 4th 1886 - By Samuel Russell - The Hollies, Walsall''.
This is an extremely fine quality specimen that is original and of wonderful manageable size.
The piece is in an overall exceptional original condition commensurate with its approximate 136 years of age.
