About this item
Late 19th century African tribal sword,c1890. Clearly hand forged the form is typical of Takouba swords from the Tuareg tribal area, North Africa. There is nice decoration to the handle and hilt and the leather scabbard has very traditional woven decoration with different coloured leather strands. Both are presented in good antique condition and have taken on great colour/patina following years of handling and use.
