A very fine 19th Century giltwood overmantel mirror of grand proportions and exceptional quality. The gorgeous sparkly mercury mirror glass plate of archtop form is set within an elegantly simple and finely hand carved moulded and fluted giltwood frame with a beautiful centred arrangement of acanthus leaves flanked with stunning lambs tongue, foliate, lozenge and bead border detail throughout. Supported on shaped platform base base with a further fabulous arrangement of scrolling acanthus leaves to the sides, intricately carved in high relief.
