About this item
Amazing fully signed gold aurene bowl/vase with green chain decoration by Frederick Carder for Steuben dating to 1925. It is decorated with an green link chain line around the body and a single green line to the top edge -the green is applied glass. This is one of the best documented and most fabulous designs. Pictured in the Schiffer Steuben book page 247 Fig 10 120. Signed Steuben Aurene and faintly the shape code 6178 - I have included the last receipt for this piece, alas now faint, showing when it was last bought dated June 1988.

Known for his experimentation with form and colour, Carder's work remains popular among collectors and can be found in numerous museum collections, including The Corning Museum of Glass, which houses the Frederick Carder Gallery. He was born in Staffordshire, England, and died in Corning, New York, where he had made his home since 1903
