About this item
An early nineteenth century, moulded pearlware, blue transfer printed sauce tureen, cover and ladle. Each piece is printed with a version of the willow pattern. The base is impressed “PATTERSON”. George Patterson, trading as Patterson & Co., potted at the Sheriff Hill Pottery, Newcastle upon Tyne, Northumberland from 1830 until 1904. This piece dates from c.1835. The transfer print is a nice quality and the piece is well potted with lovely moulded details to the finial. There is a very small chip to the underside of the lid but otherwise it is all in excellent condition.
