18 size 21 Jewel Waltham grade 845 pocket watch c1904

This is an 18 size American railroad grade pocket watch made by the Waltham Watch Co, USA. This watch is not in the finest condition and shows age related wear but this is reflected in the low price.

Movement – the nickel full plate model 1892 movement has a lever escapement and micrometer regulator. The movement has large raised gold jewel settings and is decorated with damascening. The movement is signed “AWWCo. Waltham, Mass, 845, 21 Jewels, Adjusted” # 14138159. The movement is in 85% mint condition – several small marks and scratches

Case – the movement comes in a gold plated open face case by the Philadelphia Watch Case Co. The case has a screw off back and front. The case is decorated with floral engraving on the back and a smooth plain finish on the sides. The case is in 85% mint condition – the winder has lost its gilding and so has the bow and there are light traces of metal coming through the gold plating on the edges

Dial – the white enamel dial is double sunk and has a full set of blue steel hands. The dial is signed “Waltham” and is in 80% mint condition – a forked hairline on the 4 and also the 7 and hairlines around the sub seconds also.

The watch has a mineral glass which does have a scratch

The watch measures 54mm wide x 17mm deep
