About this item
These cushions are made from a vintage Guatemalan huipil (cape) from the Nahuala region. The ground yarn is an indigo dyed cotton which is nicely faded and the decorative areas are a supplementary floating weft in burnt orang with accents of off white, green and pink. I'm not sure what the yarn is, it may be synthetic but it's silk like and very pretty.
The darker stripe across the middle, was a dart which I've unpicked and shows the darker un-faded colour of the textile.
I've backed the cushions with an indigo dyed thick cotton and there are zip fasteners and feather pads.
