About this item
This pretty cushion is made from a vintage Yao wedding blanket in handwoven cotton and floss silk. I've use the reverse of the wedding blanket for the front of the cushion, because the colours and pattern are not so faded or worn and I think are really pretty. I've bordered the narrow loomed textile with a vintage handwoven Songjiang cotton to give the cushion more height, and also used this for the back. The Sonjiang textile was originally made in the Songjiang district of Shanghai, for Chinese worker's clothes and has some dark but discernable coloured stripes in the indigo including rust green and white.
There is a zip fastener and feather pad.
