M1512 A PAIR OF RECLAIMED ARTS AND CRAFTS MAHOGANY CARVED CORBELS
A pair of original, antique, Arts and Crafts carved mahogany corbels, C1890-900. The corbels are finely carved with the fronts featuring a shield and a repeating leaf pattern around the base and front. Each side of the corbels have an elaborate dragon carving. The corbel back edge is designed to be fixed to the wall with the flat end at the top and the scrolling edges at the bottom. Please note the 1st photograph shows the corbels with the scrolling edge at the top to show the dragon design. The corbels are a lovely decorative feature that could be added to either side of a door way, used to hold a shelf or perhaps used as bookends. The corbels are in good antique condition with some signs of age and wear commensurate with age. The corbels have some light damage, with some knocks to edges and corners. The backs where the corbels attach to the wall have some splits and missing wood. There are some small wood worm holes. The wood worm has been treated. There are some small holes and scratches. Please see pictures for condition details. The corbels are versatile and interesting and are good quality antique items.
