Zhuang Wedding Blanket Cushions

These cushions were made from a beautiful vintage Zhuang wedding blanket. The blanket was hand loomed in cotton and silk, and the colours, very dark indigo and burnished gold were natural dyes. The gold silk has a slight pink tinge to it, so was probably originally pink silk which has changed to gold over time. The blanket dates to the first half of C20 and there is some nice even wear although the weave is still very sturdy. Ive backed the cushions with a thick natural linen and there are zip fasteners and feather pads.
