About this item
A Brown and Polson’s, ceramic blanc-mange mould. This is marked, in black print, with a monogram of "B P Co Ltd” around an anchor above “MADE IN ENGLAND”. It is made from a heavy earthenware and dates from c.1920. It has a simple, three tiered, fluted design to the interior. The exterior is printed with a recipe for a corn flour blance-mange. There is some staining to the mould and there is a crack in the rim which is approximately 3cm. long. This can be seen in the images.
