About this item
A miniature, creamware mould with a thistle to the base. This mould is very lightly potted, it has three small peg feet to the base and it dates from c.1780. The thistle design, to the base, is extremely well detailed and this is surrounded by a loop and pin border. There is a small firing fault in the base of the mould and there is the faintest hairline crack in the rim which is less than a centimetre long There is also the tiniest chip to the rim. These faults are very minor for a mould of this period.
