About this item
A Shelley 'Acanthus' pattern mould. This mould is marked, in red, 'Shelley', in a shield, with 'ENGLAND' beneath. The base of the mould is impressed with the number '3' which is the size number. It dates from c.1930. I think that this is one of the most attractive of the geometric designs produced by Shelley. The design is based on stylised acanthus leaves and it was made in four sizes. There is a very small stain on the rim but other than that it is in excellent condition.
