Swansea Porcelain Basin - This Basin was produced as part of "Marino Ballroom Service",Which was made for Mr J.H.Vivian of Marino, Swansea and had over 200 pieces.
C1815
The pattern is a hand painted and shows scattered flower heads with seaweed like foliage in iron red, pink, purple and green and is Indian influenced in the style of contemporary textiles and wall-papers.
Like much of this service it is unmarked.
The dish has extensive cracks but they are stable and it has some restoration but despite its defects it still displays well and is a historical piece of porcelain history as Mr Vivian was a principal patron of the factory.
