M1918 A PAIR OF ORIGINAL RECLAIMED ART NOUVEAU FIRE TILE PANELS

A pair of large, original, reclaimed Art Nouveau fire tile panels. The decorative tiles have been set into thick concrete slabs and were originally positioned on the inner sides of a fire surround, at an angle. Each tile panel has the same pattern in a style typical of the era, with a rose and leaves. The tiles have a "ghost" appearance with a light grey background and pale design. The tile panels have a thin brown border around the design. The tile panels could be installed on either side of a fire surround opening or could be repurposed and used as a decorative feature. The tile panels are in solid condition with some signs of age and wear, as expected of reclaimed antiques. The tile glaze has cracking, crazing and some discolouration and staining. The sides have some smoke residue marks that may improve with further cleaning. There are some cracks to some of the tiles and there are some chips and knocks to the tiles, mainly to the edges and corners. Please see pictures for condition details. The tile panels have a very fine design and are ideal for a home project.
