Top quality 18K gold pocket watch key with intaglio base c1840

This is seal was designed to be used with hot wax for sealing letters.

I have made an impression of this seal using hot wax to show that the seal works as intended and also to give a clearer image of the intaglio.

The wax impression comes in a small plastic case and is included with the seal.

This is a Victorian pocket watch key which has a long body and at one end a stone set swivel.

This is set with a green hard stone on one side and a white opaque hard stone on the other. The green hardstone is decorated with an intaglio and the white stone is carved with initials HS

The long body has a ribbed design with a suspension loop half way down

The gilt winding end is a size 2-3

The key measures 58mm long x 13mm wide at the base. 

The key is in 90% mint condition – wear on the gilding on the winding end and also some minor wear on the suspension loop.
