About this item
An elegant Neo-Georgian painted pine front door with glazed panels, dating to C.1910. The door is solid and well made with mortise and tenon joints and it is currently painted white. The door has 9 glazed panels, fitted with pretty acid etched glass, however the six lower panels do not meet current safety standards and the glass will need to be replaced. We can glaze the door with toughened glass, in a similar style, for an extra charge. Please contact us for details and to discuss your requirements. The lower half of the door has 3 raised and fielded panels. There is a space for a letter box plate, to be supplied by purchaser. The door has a Banham lock but there is no key for the door and purchaser will need to remove and replace the lock. The door has some signs of wear and age, as expected of antique items. The paint has some chips, marks, knocks and cracks and purchaser may wish to strip and re-paint the door to suit. There are some chips to the paint where door hardware has been removed. There is some slight damage to the door in places, with some chips, knocks and splintering to the wood. The door base has some knocks. The hinges will need replacing as they are broken. Please see pictures for condition details. The door has a fantastic design and would add great period character and charm to a home.
