About this item
An elegant painted pine Edwardian front door with panels for glazing. The door is solid and well made with mortise and tenon joints and dates to C.1900-1910. The door has three vertical raised and fielded panels at the base and the top has 9 glazed panels with an arched feature, typical of the era. The door is currently glazed with textured glass but the glass DOES NOT meet current safety standards and some of the glass is cracked. The glass MUST be replaced. We can glaze the door for an extra charge, please contact us for details and to discuss your requirements. The door has been painted white but it does have some chips, marks and flaking and purchaser will need to sand and re-paint the door to suit. Hardware is required, to be supplied by purchaser and there is an existing space for a letter plate. The door is solid and well made but there are some signs of wear and age, as expected of antique items. There are some holes and marks left from hardware removal. We can patch repair holes for an extra charge, please contact us for details and a quote. The pine has some knocks, chips and marks. There is some wiring that has been attached to and thread through the door that will need removing. The door width may need slight levelling. Please see pictures for condition details. The door has a lovely period appearance and will make a fantastic addition to the home.
