About this item
An interesting, reclaimed, Gothic style pine front door. The door has been reclaimed from a Victorian prison and has a very nice Gothic arched top. The base of the door has recessed panels with diagonal planked detailing. The top of the door has two large panels for glazing. One panel is missing the glass and the other panel has glass with a large break. The glass will need replacing before use, to meet with current safety standards. We can re-glaze the door for an extra charge, please contact us to discuss your requirements and for a quote. The door has a letter plate space.
The door is well made and in good solid condition, however there are some signs of age and wear, as expected of antique items. There are some knocks, chips and deep scratches to the pine. The paint has flaking and chipping and shows another colour underneath. Purchaser will need to sand and re-paint the door to suit. The base of the door has some unevenness and knocks. Please see pictures for condition details. The door is tall and heavy and has an interesting design, ideal for adding character to a home.
