A very attractive painting by the contemporary Chinese painter Hu Yongkai (b.1945).
Hu Yongkai is one of the most popular Chinese artists among Western collectors. He was born in Beijing and studied at the Central Academy of Fine Art in Beijing, afterwards teaching at the Fine Arts Institute of Shanghai University. In 1988, he moved to Hong Kong before emigrating to the U.S. in 1992. He now devides his time between Hong Kong, Beijing and Shenzhen. His works provide a unique interpretation of traditional Chinese paintings and Western figuration.
