About this item
A wonderfully executed 19th century religious scene painted with oil on board.
Provenance: There is no signature to this piece but we were assured by a French dealer when we purchased it that it came from Italy and it was part of a substantial collection at a deceased estate where it was amongst a superb collection of Italian School oil paintings for sale.
The painting itself is excellent, unusual and painted to a very high standard, there seems to be some restoration in places but it is sympathetic.
