About this item
Rare original old painted Alpine cradle
Measures: H. 55cm, L. 90cm, P. 70cm
On the whole surface there are floral decorations and apotropaic symbols. At the ends, two medallions are painted, one depicting the Madonna and Child, the other the Pentacle, both symbols of protection for the newborn.
On the sides, there are knobs on which, originally, a cord was passed with which to cradle the newborn.
In addition to its original use, this cradle lends itself perfectly to becoming a unique piece of furniture with different uses: it can be, for example, used to contain decorative dried flowers or fabrics.
Object not yet restored; it is possible to customise the desired degree of restoration, thanks to the intervention of our laboratory.
