About this item
William Greaves (1852-1938) was born in Leeds and studied at Sheffield College of Art. He travelled and exhibited widely at galleries including the Royal Academy, Royal Cambrian Academy, Manchester and Liverpool. He worked mostly in oils and his subjects include landscapes in and around Wharfedale in Yorkshire and Sherwood Forest in Nottinghamshire.
"Haytime, East Keswick" is an oil painting on board showing a view close to the artist's home in Yorkshire. It measures 10"x 14" and is signed lower left. It is framed in a fine quality gilt frame giving an overall size of 15"x 19".
