    About this item

LARGE AESTHETIC BROWN TRANSFERWARE SOUP PLATE

    Ridgways Potteries

Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire England c. 1882

This very large large Victorian aesthetic 10 1/4 " dinner soup plate is transfer printed in very dark brown with hand painting in orange luster.

The pattern features a fancy pin wheel flower border around a completely covered well with oversized daisy type flowers and three magnificent cartouches.  One with a proud Mediterranean long beaked bird under an oversized flowering tree.  Another with a Songbird in flight and a circular one with fancy geometric designs.  The pattern displays the victorian eras love of nature.

Condition is great, clean shiny and bright, appears to have never been used.  No chips, no cracks, no hairlines and no repairs.
