About this item
A charming, early nineteenth century, green majolica glazed, part dessert service. This service comprises fifteen plates but only one serving dish. It is English and dates from c.1830. Each piece is moulded with small cucumbers and foliage and the design is then covered in a rich, green, majolica glaze. The moulded design is excellent quality, typical of the period.
There is very fine crazing to the glaze on all items which is also typical of the majolica glaze of this period. Two of the plates have pieces of kiln grit on the face of the plates and slight rubbing to the glaze on the high points of the design and a further plate has rubbing to the high points. Other than this all items are in excellent condition. There are no chips, cracks or restoration.
Dimensions: Each plate: Diameter 21.7cm. Depth 2.5cm. Shaped dish: Length 29cm. Width 23cm. Depth 4cm.
Price includes postage within the U.K. Shipping to the U.S.A. add £75. Most of Western Europe £35.
