About this item
Very good quality and a good early model of a walnut Bouillotte table in walnut with brass inlay and the most fabulous green and white marble top, finished with a fretwork brass gallery and retains its original brass castors, circa 1880.
Great size for a generous table table, but this table was originally for the game Bouillotte, which was a very popular gambling card game. The table has two drawers and a further two slide out surfaces.
Unusually, this table has retained its original brass castors and compliments the very elegant turned, tapered and fluted legs. The brass inlay working very well with the mellow tones of the walnut.
Certainly a suitable table for a corner lamp or vase table, but could also work well as a centre hall table as it is finished all the way around as intended to free stand.
Lovely original condition and a good solid frame with the drawers and slides running well.
