About this item
A good, late 19th-century Sèvres-style French porcelain vase with cover, with white and gilded phoenix handles, the body of the vase decorated with hand-painted panels on a bleu celeste ground, one of a couple in a rural setting, him playing bagpipes, signed “Max”, the other of a lake scene, the panel with the couple framed in ornate gilding.
Measurements:
Height: 19 cm (7.5 in)
Width: 16 cm (6.3 in)
Depth: 8.5 cm (3.4 in)
Marks: Faux Sèvres Interlaced “Ls” with date code “E”.
Condition: Very good. No damage or restoration. 1 cm firing crack to underside of base.
