About this item
A Victorian copper jelly mould made by Benham. This is stamped with the orb and cross symbol used by Benham, above a pattern number ‘480’. To the opposite side is workman’s mark in the form of four tiny crescent moons, all back to back. It is also engraved with the initials “M.D.” which would be the initials of a previous owner. It is made from a substantial gauge of copper and dates from c.1880. The design consists of two tiers of six dome topped columns each with pointed sides. It is in excellent condition but the tinning, to the interior, is worn.
