About this item
A fine, eighteenth century, pierced creamware egg separator. These items were for separating the yolk from the white of an egg and, being such utility objects, it is rare for them to have survived in such good condition. This one is particularly finely potted, with attractive piercing and a fine, rope twist handle with flower terminals.
English creamware: Leeds. c.1780
Dimensions: Diameter 7.6cm. Width 8.8cm. Height 1.5cm.
Condition: Very tiny glaze chip to the reverse, by one of the central piercings.
