About this item
A Davenport, green majolica glazed leaf dish. This is impressed “DAVENPORT” around an anchor, with the numbers ‘5’ and ‘2’ to either side of the anchor. This was Davenport’s method of date coding an item and this dish was made in 1852. The dish, which would originally have been a serving dish from a dessert service, is moulded with strawberry leaves. The design is then covered with a green, majolica, lead glaze. It is in excellent condition.
Dimensions: Length 25.9cm. Width 22cm. Depth 4.2cm.
