This is a desk compendium in the form of a casket or trunk.

It is extremely heavy and of the highest quality

The trunk is decorated with applied strap work in high relief with large gilt buckles with blue enamel detailing. There are large handles on the side

Inside there is an inkwell, a gilt hinged compartment for stamps and a hinged gilt compartment for matches and a pen holder and pen rest

In the lid there is applied strap work and a hinged compartment which holds a pocket watch movement:

Movement - the gilt cylinder movement is in 90% mint condition

Dial – the white enamel dial is in 95% mint condition

It is protected by a mineral glass – this has some scratches

The movement is key wound / key set and comes with a key 

The casket measures 150mm x 90mm x 60mm

The casket is in 80% mint condition – tarnish and rubbing on the gilding, the bezel holding the glass for the watch movement needs one replacement screw and the inkwell glass container within the casket is a replacement (this has tape wrapped around it to keep it in place but is perfectly useable.
