    About this item

    A nineteenth century, Sunderland Lustre frog mug. This is potted in creamware and it dates from c.1820. It is made by Dixon and Co. and the name of the potters “DIXON & Co Sunderland” and the date “1815” appear within the transfer. It is transfer printed with a view of the Iron Bridge over the Wear and this is then coloured in green and red enamels and pink lustre. To the interior is a large, ugly brown frog with red eyes. There is one small chip to the foot rim but otherwise it is in very good condition with no restoration.
