About this item
A pair of ornate, reclaimed, antique altar / offertory church gates. The wrought iron gates are of a fine quality and have a beautiful decorative appearance with scrolling details, leaves and bars at the bottom of the gates with waved detailing. Some of the decorative pieces and the decorative detailing at the top of the gates have gilding. The gates have a handle and lock but please note there is no key for it. The base rail has some writing inscribed into it. The gates are in good reclaimed condition with some signs of age, as expected of reclaimed antiques. There are chips, knocks and flaking to the paint and gilding. The handle works but is set in a downward position. There is some surface rust to the gates and the hinges. Please see pictures for condition details. The gates have a very fine appearance and have been nicely made and would make a lovely feature item for a home.
