Rare Early 18th century antique brass face grandfather clock by Newman of Norwich circa 1730 having a stunning square brass face one hand and a thirty hour birdcage movement striking each hour on the original bell and featuring a rare alarm. It has the original quality oak case with an elegant square top supported by two turned columns and a glass door to the hood with a long door to the trunk opening to reveal the original weight and pendulum standing on a plinth base.
This grand example was made by William Newman of Norwich who was recorded as working circa 1687 - 1739 who made very high quality clocks
